A good turnout for the Finale’ Points Race # 2 of 4. With the
4 PM Start the temperature was just perfect.
Would there be any changes in the points after today’s race
was the big question on everybody’s mind.

The top 3 in Sportsman Timed Qualifying were 1st James Adamson
(Lightning – 1st ever Sportsman TQ) @ 6.251 seconds, 2nd Eddie McCray (TNT) @
6.268 seconds and 3rd Jerry Evans (TNT) @ 6.285 seconds. Bonus Point for TQ of
Timing Qualifying awarded to James Adamson.

James Adamson controlled the race thru out the entire 50 laps
with only Scott Harper able to remain on the lead lap. A late caution on lap 33
tighten everything up but James stayed just ahead of Scott and hit all his
marks to take the Heat Win.

Mike Clark would quickly take the lead from Wayne Rogers and
would hold a fairly comfortable time gap back to 2nd. Both David Swearengin and
Wayne Rogers would run faster lap times but Mike had the most consistent times
thru-out the entire 50 laps for the Heat Win. The race for 2nd was fun to watch
as Wayne would get up to David and then David would pull slightly ahead each
time.

Scott Harper would control most of this Heat as it took James
Adamson some time to get thru traffic and then James had to run Scott down. It
took 33 laps to do just that passing Scott cleanly coming out of turn 4. James
would continue to pull away from Scott and take the Heat Win.

Mike Clark would quickly take the lead from David Swearengin
but this time David Swearengin would keep closer to Mike but could not get a
fender under Mike to make a pass. A late caution had the Heat finishing under
Yellow Flag conditions with Mike Clark taking the Heat Win.

Evening started setting in and it was quite obvious James
Adamson did not make the right changes for the new track conditions and quickly
dropped from 1st to 4th. Jerry Evans went on to control this heat without too
much pressure from Scott Harper. James
and Eddie would fight it out for 3rd & 4th position. Heat Win to Jerry
Evans.

David Swearengin took the lead early from Wayne Rogers and
held that lead until lap 36 as Mike Clark’s setup took a while to come in and
hook up. Mike would then lap the field in
the last 14 laps as both David Swearengin and Wayne Rogers cars went loose. The
heat would finish under caution with Mike Clark taking the Heat Win.

Dunn would drop out on lap 10 finished 7th.

Clark would hold point for the first 13 laps where he gave up the lead to Scott
Harper.

Harper would lead until the half way full stop at lap 75.

Evans was the biggest mover making up 3 positions from 5th to 2nd.
Running
order at halfway was 1st Scott Harper, 2nd Jerry Evans, 3rd Mike Clark, 4th
Wayne Rogers, 5th James Adamson (missed the nighttime setup), 6th David Swearengin
and off the track 7th was Eddie Dunn.
The
balance of the race was Scott Harper almost dominating the race. Jerry Evans
was just about 1/10th off of Scott’s pace with Mike Clark and Wayne Rogers
fighting it out for 3rd and 4th.
Wayne
kept the pressure on Mike Clark and it paid off as Mike spun on lap 141 and
Wayne moved up to 3rd. There was a 5 lap shootout for the lead lap cars.
Everyone
held their position until the end with Scott Harper taking the A Main Win.
